Greatest Hits of 2023

We were very much thrifting and thriving in 2023 and I put together a little collection of what are, in my opinion, the best projects, finds, and thrifting adventures we've shared this year. Thank you so much for sharing another amazing year with me; I can't wait to see what we find and create in 2024!

(The titles are linked if you want to rewatch any of our adventures!)

It feels like forever ago that we rehomed the clipboard wall to make room for the vintage library doors. I love it in this new spot and really love that I was able to add a whole new row and make it even bigger and better than before.

This was a really easy DIY that I still think looks so cool and plan to make more of!

One of my favorite thrifting stories (probably ever) was unknowingly finding and buying a dress my mom owned 20 years earlier...and then finding it again a couple months later in pink!

I think this one is my favorite find of the entire year and will probably stay in my top 10 for a long time. I often feel like this piece was made to find its way to Isla's fairytale bedroom (even though it took about 40 years to get there!)

Sometimes the Halloween costumes choose you. I am still shocked at how much this vintage gown resembles Belle's dress from Beauty and the Beast.

Ah yes, the pink plaid couch that started the domino effect of an entire living room makeover. An unexpected change that feels so right now.

Marble Marble Everywhere

If my thrifting had a theme this year, it would probably be marble. I found a gorgeous marble and iron base table on Facebook Marketplace for $20 (I know, I know, I still don't have a great picture to show you), a beautiful marble coffee table, and a lovely little marble-top cabinet (that was quite the ordeal to get home).

I just love every detail of this little swan planter. I don't know why I feel like it's good enough to make the cut for greatest hits of 2023, but it does.

The Dark Horse

I found this moody horse painting at an antique shop on my birthday and soon after found a giant horse print at a thrift store. I still haven't found a place to hang the big one, but it'll come to me.

This is my last project of the year and one of my favorite changes we've made to the house. Isla's initial reaction to the finished wall was "Oooo it's so spooky!" and that is absolutely the vibe I was trying to achieve! Like a beautiful, Victorian, haunted house pre-ghosts.

I'm so glad you all loved these snails as much as I did! I really thought I'd get more pushback about painting them.

Emmitt's room was in dire need of some updating at the start of the year and I can't believe what it looks like now!

While I didn't take home much from this sale, I still can't get over the house!! An absolute dream straight out of a Nancy Meyers movie.

My mom surprised me with this totally meant-to-be plate rack for my kitchen and its reignited my inspiration for the space. Have I acted on that inspiration?...No, but I'll get there.

Red Leather

I always seem to collect one or two amazing leather pieces per year and this year was no exception. I found a red leather skirt I'm obsessed with and a burgundy leather jacket that screams Lorelai Gilmore.

I'm so proud of this little thrift flip. I'd been looking for a spice cabinet and thought this one was so cute and functional. I was inspired by classic MacKenzie-Childs patterns when repainting it and now it's one of my favorite details in my kitchen.

I inherited a box of vintage ornaments from my grandma's basement. I took a risk and filled my tree with them this year and so far they've all survived the kids and cats! (knock on wood)

I almost forgot about this DIY until I was scrolling through old photos and videos to write this article. Still so stinkin' cool and the perfect decor for a warrior princess room.

I found this mirror in a thrift shop at the end of last year and finally got to give it the makeover I'd always envisioned. Another favorite from the fairytale bedroom.

Red Lampshades

I'm including this one even though at the time of writing this, I've only shared this project a tiny bit. I'll share more soon, I promise! I wanted my lampshades to match the color scheme of my Christmas bedding so I quickly gave an old pair a makeover with some fabric I got off Facebook Marketplace a long time ago. I didn't have quite enough fabric to cover them so I had to get creative, but I think they turned out better this way! Here's a little peek at them, I'll show more soon.

Once again, thank you for spending 2023 with me and following along on all my thrifting adventures! I'm so looking forward to sharing more with you in the new year and I hope you have amazing finds in store too!
